According to this article,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hain_Celestial_Group, Heinz "divested itself of all holdings in 2005." That at least in theory means that Heinz no longer has anything to do with Hain/Celestial Group (verified by this source:
http://www.wikinvest.com/stock/Hain_Celestial_Group_(HAIN) ). So... they're still probably not totally 'clean' but I've found it's a good idea to consume as little processed/food-in-a-box as possible, and when I do it's minimally processed (like blue corn chips).

Thank you for the list, it is really quite amazing how "they" whoever "they" are, are trying to confuse us. I have been living on real organic food for most of my life and I'm a healthy 56 year old. Strangely enough, I cannot find a single product in the list above that I would consider healthy and therefore eat. Just because it's labeled organic, doesn't mean it's healthy. All the above mentioned products may have been of organic origin, but are made for shelf life, not optimum nutrition. The optimum nutrition can only be obtained from fresh, recently harvested food, eaten raw or home cooked and not from stuff (I hate to call it food), that's sitting on a shelf for months! Quite apart from the fact that if you grow organic food in the currently everywhere depleted soils, which is what they do, you can't expect that those plants have actually optimum nutrition.

And when it's all said and done and a person has lived on those "stuff" products and get ill, then they say: "See? I've eaten correctly and I still get ill!" Well, sad.

The irresponsibility of all the manufacturers listed above is beyond words, trying to make out they are selling something vaguely healthy. It is NOT. It's just another marketing lie.

Well, just had to get this off my chest. I'm actually growing my own nutritious food in perfect soil, I could not see any other way to obtain healthy food.

What about local grocery store chains that carry organic foods under their store name like Meijer? I have always wondered where their organics come from...

Not a huge fan of Big Food Organic myself. HOWEVER...one purpose it does serve if a brand succeeds, is to provide revenue streams and employment for people who would otherwise be jobless simply by shutting the entire corporation down. All Big Corps maintain their most profitable revenue streams and unload the others...if organic is where they're doing best, that's where the effort, and money, is going to be invested. Consumers can influence this process with their money and insisting on transparency to insure that these subsidiaries are truly organic and sustainable.

That is way as much as I don't like Big Food, I channel most of my energy into helping companies who are economically sound with marketable products...to succeed. It creates jobs. I don't think many activists have really thought through how to employ all the people their activist work stands to send to the unemployment line. Create alternatives first that eventually reduce demand for the less desirable product while giving those employees other job options. It's a process.

Thank you for providing this lists it is surely a big help for us parents. This list would guide us which products should we bought to prepare a healthy meal for our family. kids healthy snack is also our major concern so this would surely benefit a lot.

I know this is very late, but I sincerely thank you for all of your hard work researching and providing a list such as this. As much as I am on the bandwagon for agribusinesses to adopt better food-growing and producing habits, considering the lenient policies behind organic and labeling practices, I am very cynical as to the quality and accuracy of some of their claims and products. This list allows me to make more educated choices as to who's behind the food I purchase.

Thank you so much; hugely useful. I am shocked by Cascadian Farms: living in WA I thought I was buying local and organic from a family operation (sure seems like that based on what's printed on their box and their website). I assume they were acquired at some point. I would never buy knowingly from Kellog's. Their marketing is absolutely deceptive, why isn't it fraudulent?
I'm wondering about Nature's Path, the only other brand of cereal I buy - not on the list and also appears to be a small operation (but who knows?).
